Redlight

drinks. food. art. music.

Redlight is owned and run by artist Rebecca Ogden and musician Shea Hagan, and staffed with love by a small and tight handful of equally creative folks. We love (in no particular order) each other, drinks, food, art, music, our customers, and our town. We are known for providing fine, carefully made cocktails, craft beers and wines, as well as cheap canned beers and specialty shots, because Bellingham has the taste of a connoisseur with a blue-collar heart. Order at the bar and find that we like to keep things simple, but excellent, and above all we know how to have a good time.

The space is cozy, sparkly, still has the original (115+ year old) meathooks and other architectural details, and comes complete with a 110 year old murder mystery. Redlight is the perfect spot for a night off from the rock and roll, the best place for a special date, and a regular stop for servers from other wonderful local bars and restaurants. With wifi, coffee, booze, locally baked pastries and a constantly changing bar menu, Redlight is a dream come true for anyone looking for a public space to work in peace. We've got more than a little something for everybody. Come in and we'll prove it.

Last but not least: the live music is intimate, awesome, and rare. We host only one weekday show a month and none on weekends). Shows are always 2-band bills from 10-midnight so that you can catch the whole show and still manage to get home at a reasonable hour or wander away to see what's happening down the street...because we're considerate like that.

Don't miss a show or a drink special! Sign up for our newsletter and "follow" our facebook page to get up-to-date and charming bits of information thrown at you.

Junuary!

Happy summertime! Speaking of that, in the next week (or so) when everyone starts the complaining about being hot and sweaty, don't forget that our patio is the breeziest and our cocktails are fresh and frosty. We're kind of built for summer nights, nobigdeal.

Our current art show (up now and through July) is by phenomenal local artist Richard Olmsted, and it will blow your mind. Come by and check it out before we sell them all.

There are some interesting changes happening at Redlight, so read on to learn everything new about Bellingham's sparkliest bar...

MUSIC You've probably noticed, we've cut way back on the live music. In fact, we're keeping it to just one weekday show per month (no weekend shows at all), to be your go-to, cover-free joint for those nights when you simply want to be able to get a seat and some drinks, without a noisy event lousing up your fun. HERE'S THE THING: To keep it to just one show a month, we turn down a bunch of great stuff, so you have to know that when we DO book a show it's going to be an especially good one. Don't miss Wild Throne's tour kick-off with openers World Runners Thursday June 26th, or Rookerizer (Rookery and Totalizer, getting weird, sharing the set!) with Male bondage ("Indianapolis Sludge Lords!") on Tuesday July 22nd. Both shows start
at 10, only $4 at the door.

FOOD and DRINK We're making some menu changes so keep your eyes peeled for new house drink books (yes, BOOKS) with more delicious cocktails and cheap combos than ever, including THE SANDRIDER, THE VESPERTINE, THE KING BUZZO, and LA LLORONA.
We'll be re-vamping the food menu soon too, so now would be a good time to vote with your wallet if you want us to keep your favorites.

THE MEAT LOCKER With Its original, 100+ year old meat hooks (from the days when our space was a working butcher shop and site of a murder!), this unique and cozy seating area is open for everyone's enjoyment and AVAILABLE FOR RESERVATION! You may hold the room for parties of 6 or greater, weeknights (no weekend rentals) for free! Add a designated server for $50/4hrs + gratuity, of course! Please contact us if you have any questions or would like to reserve the room, at michelle@redlightbellingham.com
